BBP - January Duo Swatches and Review

Each month in 2017, BBP will be releasing a duo inspired by that month's birthstone. January is Garnet and although they do come in different color variations, Britt chose the more common deep red as her inspiration.

Supermoon Lacquer Swatches and Review

Hey guys! I realize it's been pretty much a month since my last post and I doubt anyone is still reading. Today I have swatches of two polishes I bought from Supermoon Lacquer. I've gotten to know Mardi, the creator behind the brand over the past few months and her Black Friday sale was the perfect opportunity to try her polishes out. But first, let me tell you a tale about my nails. You'll notice I have two different shapes in the collage above. I've had every intention of posting once a week and then I find myself without any time to paint my nails, much less blog about it. It's been crazy busy for me since Thanksgiving. I swatched the polish on the left pretty much the day after it arrived, about a week after BF. My nails where coffins and growing nicely. And then one broke. No biggie, patched it up. Then the patch ripped off, taking a whole chunk of nail with it. 😭 I think another nail went and broke after that one...I dunno anymore, I just went ahead and filed them all down. So I swatched the polish on the right last night, still wearing it..my nails are squovals again and I give up. I think, with my current lifestyle (aka busy mom working from making polish), the only way I'll be able to keep the coffins is with an hard gel or acrylic overlay. And I've seriously thought about going to a salon and getting a professional one but I'm afraid they'll mess up my nails. I had been doing the hard gel myself but it is too time consuming until I get a better LED lamp. And I'm lazy and keep forgetting to order one plus I spend all my money nowadays on polish making supplies and leggings. I had been so happy in my last post that I had my coffins back and now this...so sad. Anyway, they'll grow back. On to the polish.

Pretty and Polished Winter Collection Nail Art Review

Hi guys! So, since Chelsea knows how crazy busy I am with getting ready to launch my line of stamping polishes, she sent me 5 of the new colors from her winter collection instead of all 12. And...since I knew she had a ton of amazing bloggers providing her with gorgeous swatches (which I'll link below)...I decided to do things a little differently. I took my time and created 5 different nail art looks with the polishes I got, wearing each for 1 day before moving on to the next. I am personally pleased with how these came out and I really enjoyed the more relaxed swatching pace. I think I might keep it up this way. As a funny note, you'll see how my nails get longer by the last swatch since I didn't want to file them until I was done. Scroll down for more pics and the review!

Pretty and Polished - Throwback-Collection Swatch and Review

Hi guys! Today I have the Throwback Collection from Pretty and Polished. P&P is celebrating 5 years of being in business this month and they are bringing back 4 classic shades in their old style paper labels that will only be available through a pre-order until Nov 14. So you have to act fast if you want any of these.

The Throwback collection features 2 classic P&P glitter crellies, 1 clear glitter topper, and a gorgeous thermal crelly. These have been reformulated and now have P&P's 5 free formula. These polishes all self-level wonderfully and you don't need a lot for nice, even coverage.

BBP Stamping Polishes!

Guys...you guys...I'm rather excited today. 1st of all because it's been a while since my last post, but 2nd, because one of my favorite makers...and in my opinion the indie creme polish queen, is launching her own line of stamping polishes! I feel very honored that I got to test and swatch these. The initial stamping polish launch consists of 6 colors and for the most part they stamp really well over both white and black as well as work with a variety of stampers and plates. I'm going to share my general review and thoughts on the polishes as a group first, followed by the pics and any additional comments on the individual colors.

Pahlish Fan Group Customs Swatches and Review

Hi guys! I'm actually sick right now so I'm pulling out some swatches from my vault to show you guys. Today I'll be sharing some Pahlish fan group customs with you guys. These were made exclusively for the Pahlish Lovers FB fan group and are no longer available. Overall, both of these polishes had a great formula but they were...dare I say it...to holo for me. Yes, I said it. I am not a fan of "in your face" holo polishes. I felt the holo flare in these was so strong, that it grayed out the colors way too much. I was not a fan so I let these go in my destash a few months ago. Anyway, I'm just going to share the swatches I took below, enjoy!

Arcane Lacquer - Swatch Spam

Today I have some swatches of a few polishes from Arcane Lacquer. I'm actually destashing these, but they are so pretty that I wanted to swatch them at least once before selling them. The first is Set the Pace, pictured above. This is the only swatch I have, since I did some nail art with it that I ended up hating but I sold it before I got the chance to re-swatch it and take more pics. Swatch is 2 coats with top coat, really nice and smooth formula. Let's see the other polishes below!

Lilly Anne's Garden Acetone Additive Review

Today I have a review for a new to me product from a new brand by IG swatcher @mrs.miscostello aka Misty. I've been having issues with the constant use of acetone on my skin and the fumes have been triggering headaches. So I asked in a FB group for any brand that made acetone additives without grapeseed oil (because I'm allergic to it). Misty responded letting me know that she had a brand new product that was grapeseed oil free and offered to send me a bottle to try out and review! So check below for my thoughts!

BBP - Whiskey Trio

Today I have swatches and a review of the Bad Bitch Polish Whiskey Trio. These are part of the Liquor Cabinet Collection, which consist of 5 alcohol themed trios, each with a jelly and two glitters that you can mix and match for lots of different combos. The other trios are Gin, Vodka, Rum, and Tequila, they are being released throughout the summer. I have the Whiskey trio to show you guys, which consists of Whiskey, a yellow jelly; and the two mixers, Lemon and Cherry.

4th of July Nail Art

June Mani Swap - Swirly Stamped Gradient Nail Art

Today I have my super late post on June's Mani Swap. I swapped with @luvbboop23 on IG. Her original design was using separate swirl images with the different colors but I don't have the same plate so I did a stamped gradient instead. More pics and tutorial below!

Orly Mini Swatches

Back in 2014 during my "buy all the polish" phase, I got a bunch of Orly mini packs from TJ Maxx. I was in search of Orly Just Peachy. Anyone remember that? It was a beautiful, glittery peachy polish that Orly made and then for some reason only sold in limited quantities at discount stores like Marshalls and TJ Maxx. Everyone went crazy searching for it. Then it turned out to simply be a rebottled version of SpaRitual Wilderness (which is made by the same parent company). Eventually, Just Peachy made it's way into the Orly mini packs and I bought a few. No shame. Anyway, here's some swatches of the minis.

I know I haven't been posting much lately and I don't really have a good excuse other than...mental health issues that are wearing me down and making it hard for me to find the motivation to do much. Pretty and Polished - Bummer Summer - Swatches and Review

Today I have the Pretty and Polished Bummer Summer Collection to show you guys. It's 4 polishes themed for those of us who hate summer. Ok so I don't hate it but as an adult it's not my favorite season. I do like the long break from school but I wish it were in winter instead. As I grow older the things that I used to love about summer I know really dislike, lazy days by the pool now mean being on high alert making sure the kids follow rules and don't hurt themselves. Quick beach escapes now mean packing a car full of things, food, towels, clothes, toys, blankets, chairs, umbrellas, etc. Playing all day outside now means forcing the kids to drink water, tons of icky bug spray and having to hear them complain about how hot it is and how they'd rather be indoor watching tv. You can't win. And don't get me started on buying a swimsuit...give me a large shirt and shorts please.

Orly PCH - Swatches and Review

You guys...I've had these swatches for like a month now. Ugh. How can I have so much stuff going on when I really don't ave anything mayor going on at the same time? Just basic, boring, adulting and parenting taking up all my time. I enrolled my youngest in pre-school for fall today...I guess that's a milestone of sorts. I'm trying not to think about it. BBP - Summer Playlist - Partial Collection Swatches and Review

Today I have swatches and a review for 6 of the 12 new colors that Bad Bitch Polish is releasing for summer. The collection is called Summer Playlist and it's inspired by classic summer songs. These colors are all super bright and with the exception of one (a teal which I don't have for you guys), they are not neons. Don't be disappointed, what this means is that they don't have that finicky matte neon formula, instead they are gorgeous cremes that dry to a super shiny and smooth finish on their own.
