BBP - January Duo Swatches and Review

*Press Samples* Today I have swatches and a review of the January Birthstone Duo from Bad Bitch Polish, Garnet Galaxy and Gosh Garnet. Each month in 2017, BBP will be releasing a duo inspired by that month's birthstone. January is Garnet and although they do come in different color variations, Britt chose the more common deep red as her inspiration.

Photos are in two different light sources and cameras, my usual set up which is an Ottlite and daylight bulb with my Nikon S7000 (point and shoot), and the Jansjo LED light from Ikea with my Samsung Galaxy S7 which shows off holographics and shimmers better (however the light is not color accurate as it casts a very strong yellow glow).

Garnet Galaxy is classic Christmas red linear holographic. Swatch is 1 coat with top coat. You read that right...just 1 freaking coat! Amazing formula. I haven't tested it for stamping or watermarbling but I'm sure it works for that as well. It's super smooth and easy to apply.

Gosh Garnet

 

Gosh Garnet is jelly flakie with gold holo glitter. Swatch is 2 coats with top coat. I dunno guys..that description is lacking, this is more than just flakies and glitter. There's so much depth to this polish, it's super gorgeous and sparkly, while at the same time sorta vampy. This is definitely going down as one of my favorite reds that I got to swatch this year. It's nicely opaque for a jelly, you could actually get away with one careful coat but I found the extra coat covered all visible nail lines and made the color even deeper and redder. If you love red or complex polishes, this is a definite must have!
