Sparkly Pond Stamping Mani How To with the OPI Color Paints

Wednesday, March 30, 2016
pond-stamping-nail-art

Today I'm going to show you guys a stampwich, aka a pond manicure with stamping in between the layers, done with the OPI Color Paints Mini Set, Bettina nail polishes, MoYou London Pro XL 06, and Pretty & Polished Halo TC. My twin sister had this idea she was trying to do but it wasn't quite working out. So I offered to see if I could do it and record a tutorial to help her out. I whipped this up over the weekend and I'm happy to report that she likes it and it did help her out. Check below for the macro shots and  scroll all the way down for the video tutorial .

You guys...I meant for this post to published yesterday as another #tbt. I fell asleep, I was too exhausted. I re-swatched one of the very first polishes I reviewed in this blog and added some nail art. Essie Spaghetti Strap. It's also one of my most popular posts for some reason. Anyway, more swatches, macro, and video below!

Untried Indies - Different Dimension Keep Urchin Up

different-dimension-keep-urchin-up-swatch

Today I bring you another polish in my untried indies stash. I've had this for over a year and a half, just gathering dust. Yikes. It's Different Dimension's Keep Urchin Up from the summer 2014 Sea You On The Other Side collection. When I bought it, I remember asking my hubby for advice. At the time I was working as a real estate agent and I wasn't sure if I would have the guts to wear this to a showing, or have the time to wear it in my "free time" if it wasn't appropriate! Oh how things have changed. Now I think this one is actually pretty tame. Anyway, more swatches, links to video swatch, and super easy nail art below!

Pastel Seriotype Nail Art

I wanted to attempt some seriotype nail art...it didn't go too well. Seriotype nails are when you take a sponge and apply the colors randomly, then dab them onto the nail. I actually only learned recently what this technique was called. I've heard it called watercolor nails as well, since the effect can look like a washed out watercolor painting background. Sometimes it's called a smoosh attack or a smooshy base when you do the same thing with a stamper. These are also the same thing as a Saran Wrap mani, where you dab the colors directly on your nail and then smoosh them around with a Saran Wrap or when you paint a base and then use a scrunched up ball of Saran Wrap to dab on the additional colors. Point is, they all end up with a similar effect no matter what tools you use or what you call it.

Blue Fishtail Water Marble Nail Art and Tutorial

Wednesday, March 16, 2016

This week has been kicking my butt. I meant to post this yesterday but I have not had the time. And it's only Wednesday, I'm crying a little. I've got a doctor's appointment tomorrow and spring break starts on Friday for my oldest so...there goes whatever little peace and quiet I had remaining. Anyway, it's time for another Mani Swap! I do these almost every month but don't always post about them in here. But you can find them on my Instagram if you want to see them. This month I swapped with @sassy_manis.

My Nails and My...Giraffe

Sunday, March 13, 2016

I've decided to start sharing some lifestyle kinda not nails necessarily. The series will be called "My Nails and My...". While I don't think my life is particularly interesting, I don't always feel like posting about nails. I've got other stuff on my mind that's I'd like to write about; things that interest me, random thoughts and rants, whatever; without having to start another blog. Don't worry, this blog will still be 90% nails. I've been trying to post every Tuesday and Thursday, with a video on YouTube on Mondays, so these posts will only be on the weekends. This series will be more like a journal of sorts.

Today I have swatches and some nail art of Scofflaw Nail Varnish Love Letter to Loki. Although I've been hearing about Scofflaw for a while, I never bought any until a few months ago. I picked up Love Letter to Loki, Diamond Dogs, and Seagulls Screaming Kiss Her Kiss Her during her winter collection launch in January. I'll swatch the rest soon but I was feeling like a dark green last week so I started with this one. Swatches, review, macros, and a video below!

UberChic XL Stampers Review

Tuesday, March 8, 2016
mamaheartspolish-uber-chic-xl-stamper-review

Today I wanted to do a simple and quick review on the UberChic XL stampers. There's already a lot of very thorough and great reviews out there, especially on YouTube. I was asked for my thoughts on them on my channel, since I didn't own any of them at the time so I couldn't compare so I wanted to include my experience with these stampers now that I've gotten my hands on them.

Nail Hoot The Beginning (partial) Swatches & Review

Nail-Hoot-The-Beginning-collage

I've really been liking the polishes that Nail Hoot has been making lately so I got a few back in January (before the no buy began). I wanted to swatch and review them so I decided to just start with the Beginning collection. Not only are these the first polishes that Nail Hoot released but they are also inspired by the first five books of the Bible, which I found interesting. I didn't get all 5, I got the 3 that have multichrome properties so I have swatches of Genesis, Leviticus, and Deuteronomy to share after the break.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Polish - Have Unicorn Will Travel

I've been waiting a while to share this! A group of friends got together with the idea to share one polish among ourselves, keeping it a secret until the last one got it. The awesome Megan from M Polish created a polish for the group, and the last person in line got to keep it. I was so in love with it, I seriously got sad when I had to let it go. But...I took a bunch of pics because it was just too awesome not to share in here. I had to wait until everyone in the group had received the polish, done a mani, and photographed it but the day has finally arrived! Let's take a look at M Polish Have Unicorn, Will Travel.
