Pretty & Polished - Tomboyish - Moonflower Polish - Do Not Read the Latin! - Untried Challenge

Saturday, September 29, 2018
pretty-polished-tomboyish-moonflower-polish-don-not-read-the-latin-stamping-1

Well I clearly suck at completing a challenge, even one set by myself. I clearly have too much time going on in my life to keep up with this blog, a YouTube channel, and a nail polish brand. So...I'm not making any promises about what I will and won't do anymore.

Anyway, I put a bunch of untrieds in a box, closed my eyes, and asked my hubby to pick one. He picked Pretty and Polished Tomboyish, which is a sage green to minty green thermal with a hint of subtle holo and shimmer. I've had it for a couple of years at least and it still transitions, which is great.

pretty-polished-tomboyish-moonflower-polish-don-not-read-the-latin-stamping-macro

I stamped over it with Moonflower Polish Do Not Read the Latin! from September's Horror Movie Polish Pickup theme. I used UberChic plate 24-01 (purchased from Lantern and Wren and the Semi Squishy XL Silicone Stamper head from Maniology (formerly known as Bundle Monster) which is my standard go-to stamping head. Then finished it with a matte topcoat, which I regretted cause it obscured the shimmers in Do Not Read the Latin! and the holo in Tomboyish but I was too tired to topcoat again...and lazy, I was lazy.

The boring stuff...unless otherwise indicated by the phrase "press sample" all products shown in this post were either purchased by me or made by me. Moonflower Polish is my brand of indie stamping polishes.

Moonflower Polish Vampy Cremes

Thursday, March 15, 2018

I think I just need to accept the fact that I'm only going to be posting to this blog like once a month if that. I dunno guys, no one is really reading this and it takes so long to write up, is it even worth it? Anyway, here are the latest polishes I released from Moonflower Polish back in February. Like always, this is *not* a review, just sharing info and swatches. I'm lacking time and energy for a long post today so let's just get straight to it.

All swatches are 1 coat of the color with top coat. I used a variety of Bundle Monster and UberChic plates with the Simply Silver and Soft Sticky stampers from Lantern and Wren. To find out more and see how they stamped, watch my video below!

Hey guys! Nothing special today, just some smooshy nail art using 4 colors from my brand Moonflower Polish and a stamping plate from Bundle Monster. My nails are super short and awkward right now. I haven't had much time to pain them and they are super neglected and breaking all the time. It makes me sad. So I wanted to do some nail art to dress them up a bit. Check below to see what I used!

*Press Samples* What's up my online peeps!? Guys...I'm really determined to do at least 2 posts a week. We'll see. Anyway, for my 1st post of 2017 I have a small break in between press samples so I wanted to do some nail art. I did both hands too! I did these using the smooshy/saran wrap/watercolor technique. I've done this type of nails before but this time I actually used my stamper to smoosh the colors around on my nails. I topped it off with some stamping using one of my Moonflower Polish prototypes. Check below to see more!

Supermoon Lacquer Swatches and Review

Friday, December 16, 2016
supermoon-lacquer-review

Hey guys! I realize it's been pretty much a month since my last post and I doubt anyone is still reading. Today I have swatches of two polishes I bought from Supermoon Lacquer. I've gotten to know Mardi, the creator behind the brand over the past few months and her Black Friday sale was the perfect opportunity to try her polishes out. But first, let me tell you a tale about my nails. You'll notice I have two different shapes in the collage above. I've had every intention of posting once a week and then I find myself without any time to paint my nails, much less blog about it. It's been crazy busy for me since Thanksgiving. I swatched the polish on the left pretty much the day after it arrived, about a week after BF. My nails where coffins and growing nicely. And then one broke. No biggie, patched it up. Then the patch ripped off, taking a whole chunk of nail with it. 😭 I think another nail went and broke after that one...I dunno anymore, I just went ahead and filed them all down. So I swatched the polish on the right last night, still wearing it..my nails are squovals again and I give up. I think, with my current lifestyle (aka busy mom working from making polish), the only way I'll be able to keep the coffins is with an hard gel or acrylic overlay. And I've seriously thought about going to a salon and getting a professional one but I'm afraid they'll mess up my nails. I had been doing the hard gel myself but it is too time consuming until I get a better LED lamp. And I'm lazy and keep forgetting to order one plus I spend all my money nowadays on polish making supplies and leggings. I had been so happy in my last post that I had my coffins back and now this...so sad. Anyway, they'll grow back. On to the polish.

Today I'm going to show you guys a stampwich, aka a pond manicure with stamping in between the layers, done with the OPI Color Paints Mini Set, Bettina nail polishes, MoYou London Pro XL 06, and Pretty & Polished Halo TC. My twin sister had this idea she was trying to do but it wasn't quite working out. So I offered to see if I could do it and record a tutorial to help her out. I whipped this up over the weekend and I'm happy to report that she likes it and it did help her out. Check below for the macro shots and  scroll all the way down for the video tutorial .

Sisterhood of the Traveling Polish - Have Unicorn Will Travel

sisterhood-of-the-traveling-polish-have-unicorn-will-travel-collage

I've been waiting a while to share this! A group of friends got together with the idea to share one polish among ourselves, keeping it a secret until the last one got it. The awesome Megan from M Polish created a polish for the group, and the last person in line got to keep it. I was so in love with it, I seriously got sad when I had to let it go. But...I took a bunch of pics because it was just too awesome not to share in here. I had to wait until everyone in the group had received the polish, done a mani, and photographed it but the day has finally arrived! Let's take a look at M Polish Have Unicorn, Will Travel.

ocean-sunset-nail-art

Hi guys! Back in April I was a bridesmaid at a friend's wedding. Another one of my friends designed the invitations. The back of the RSVP card had the most beautiful ocean sunset watercolor that I had to do some nail art inspired by it. I've had these pictures stored in my computer since then, for one reason or another I wasn't able to share them until now.

Hi guys! As I showed in the Bellaluna Cosmetics fall collection swatch post, 4 of the 5 colors stamp really well. I had to do some stamping to show how they work. You can find the video tutorial below.

Fall Mosaic Stamping

fall-mosaic-stamping-dry-brush-nail-art

Hi guys! Today I have some more stamping. Since getting my Messy Mansion soft-med stamping head, it's just become so much easier that I want to stamp all the manis! This is a double technique look that's actually quite easy. I used China Glaze Hey Doll as my base plus a whole bunch of other colors that I thinned and then dried brushed on with a small flat rectangular brush. Click on "read more" for more pics and to see how I did it.
