Pahlish Fairy Frost - The Great Untrieds Challenge

Monday, January 22, 2018
pahlish-fairy-frost-swatch

It's 2018 and I'm doing a new thing. How are you? Is there anyone still here? I've been busy, my nails are in a sorry state due to several factors like cold weather and making nail polish. I have barely painted my nails in the past few months...yes...months. It's so sad. Anyways...I have a lot of nail polish, I thought I had over 1k at some point but I've been slowly destashing. During the time Florida was dealing with the effects of Hurricane Irma I realized that if I had to leave my home, knowing there might not be anything left when I came back, there really wasn't a single bottle of polish I would take with me. Maybe 1, cause it was a custom gift from a friend. I'd take my supplies and the bottles for my own brand if I had the time and space, or rather I'd put them somewhere safe and hope for the best but when it comes down to it...it's just nail polish and I have more than a person can wear in a lifetime. Which brings me to my next point. I spent the past few days going through and cataloging them, which I had never done and I'm proud to say that I am now down to somewhere closer to 800 bottles. But that is still a huge amount. Most of them are untrieds, that means I bought them and have never worn them other than to swatch them on a stick, and some not even that. I have bottles I bought in 2014 when I started collecting indies that I've never used. I can't with that. That's not who I am.

So...I know I've done this before and failed but here's attempt #2, the Great Untrieds Challenge. 1 new polish everyday, or every other day, starting with the stuff I bought in 2014, all untried. I'll still do product reviews and nail art tutorials, you'll find most of those on my YouTube channel (click on it!) probably once a week or so. I need to paint my nails every day, it's the only way I don't bite them. My nails are a super short mess right now and I'm trying to fix the damage I've done to my sidewalls, more on that in another post. Point is, if I don't paint, I bite. So what better way than a new untried polish every day?

Today's polish is Pahlish - Bespoke Batch in Fairy Frost. Originally described as a turquoise blue jelly with a mix of platinum flakes and ultra fine holographic silver glitter. Swatch is 2 coats with topcoat. It's pretty opaque for a jelly, which is nice. There was a little bit of staining on dry skin during clean up but nothing too bad.

Pahlish Fan Group Customs Swatches and Review

Pahlish-Lovers-Fan-Group-Customs

Hi guys! I'm actually sick right now so I'm pulling out some swatches from my vault to show you guys. Today I'll be sharing some Pahlish fan group customs with you guys. These were made exclusively for the Pahlish Lovers FB fan group and are no longer available. Overall, both of these polishes had a great formula but they were...dare I say it...to holo for me. Yes, I said it. I am not a fan of "in your face" holo polishes. I felt the holo flare in these was so strong, that it grayed out the colors way too much. I was not a fan so I let these go in my destash a few months ago. Anyway, I'm just going to share the swatches I took below, enjoy!

For today's Untried Indies post, I'm sharing swatches, a review, and nail art for Pahlish Snow Over the Rhone from the 2014 Winter Collection. I've had this untried for over a year since I bought it during the initial release. It's a gorgeous polish so make sure you check below for all the pics and the nail art I did with it, plus the video swatch and tutorial. *Lots of pictures ahead*.

Untried Indies - Pahlish An Caisteal Ruadh

pahlish-an-caisteal-ruadh-swatch-1

I totally got this idea from Moni's Manis, she has a series where she posts swatches of her untried polishes in between press samples and nail art. I've been trying to make a dent in my untrieds by wearing a new one everyday. So I thought I would start posting some of them since I have quite a few. I started with Pahlish An Caisteal Ruadh from last year' fall collection. I'm shamed to say it sat untried for about a year until I finally wore it a month ago. Check below for more swatches and a short review.

For this weekend I have some swatches and accent stamping of Pahlish Hatfield House. This is a dark evergreen jelly with red shimmer from the fall Royal Reverie collection. I really like this color and I'm sad that I haven't seen that many swatches of it. I have a close up and more after the break!

This week the Pahlish Lovers group on Facebook is hosting a Pahlish Week to show our support and love for maker Shannon cause she's been going through some stuff. We're going to be using the hashtag #teampahlish to show off our Pahlish manis. I'm wearing La Dernière Reine from the 2014 Royal Reverie fall collection with a stamped accent nail.

Hi guys! It's time for another edition of the He Picks My Polish Nail Art Challenge. This is a fun challenge hosted by Alessandra aka The Sparkle Queen. Anyone can join, you can find the group on Facebook for the Inlinkz code for bloggers or just use the hashtag #hepicksmypolish on Instagram. This month, since he kept forgetting to pick the actual polish, I just texted him at work and asked for 3 colors. He choose peach, green, and yellow. Now, I have a small collection compared to some Polishaholics but still...you'd think that out of 225+ polishes, that I'd have a large variety of yellows, green, and peach to choose from. Well, you'd be wrong. Apparently, most of my collection is blues, teals, purples, pinks, corals, and glitters of various kinds. There's more after the break!

Saran Wrap Mani with Essie Sittin Pretty & I'm Addicted

For today's Mani Monday Nail Art look I have two designs using purple and blue with Essie's Sittin' Pretty, I'm Addicted and Pahlish's Charn. I'm sorry for being MIA for most of last week, it's been busy here at home with Princess A starting 2nd grade today and Squish getting his 2 year molars in. Ugh...if you have kids, then you know how awful those 2 year molars can be. Things are quieter today and I have been working on nail art behind the scenes so I hope to catch up this week. I have a new monthly feature coming soon as well that I'm really excited about. On to the nails!
