Hello readers! I'm back, I know I've been lacking in posts these past weeks. If it isn't toddler teething and entering the terrible twos, then it's one tropical storm system or other knocking down power lines and cable/internet service for days. Make sure you're following me on Instagram, because if I can't access my PC to upload, edit pics and post, I will usually snap some "nail of the day" pics and post to Instagram in the meantime. Today's Mani Monday Nail Art look is beach themed! Featuring colors from Reverie Nail Lacquer (Seascape), Essie (Cocktails and Coconuts, I'm Addicted), Sally Hansen (Please Sea Me, White On), and CG Fairy Dust. I know summer is almost over but in my defense I made these about a month ago.

They're not the same, they're similar!

Today I have a fun post. You ever get excited over a brand new color of nail polish only to bring it home and realize you have one that's almost exactly the same? In the nail polish world a dupe is color that's exactly the same or pretty close to another. That's not necessarily what I mean though. I was going through my stash, organizing it and finding places to store recent purchases when it dawned on me that I had several colors that were all a type of purple with a golden shimmer or glitter. I also had several minty greens/light teals and golden, shimmery, texture polishes. So let's compare! (All these are 2 coats, no topcoat).

Let's start with the purples! All of these are basically purples with some type of golden shimmer or glitter. Left to right the bottles are CrowsToes Jotunheim, Pahlish La Belle Endormie, ORLY Fantasea, Essie It's Genius, ORLY Oui, and ORLY Digital Glitter.

For today's Mani Monday Nail Art look I have two designs using purple and blue with Essie's Sittin' Pretty, I'm Addicted and Pahlish's Charn. I'm sorry for being MIA for most of last week, it's been busy here at home with Princess A starting 2nd grade today and Squish getting his 2 year molars in. Ugh...if you have kids, then you know how awful those 2 year molars can be. Things are quieter today and I have been working on nail art behind the scenes so I hope to catch up this week. I have a new monthly feature coming soon as well that I'm really excited about. On to the nails!

Elemental Nail Art

Today I have some elemental themed bubble nail art for you. This was the theme of a Polishaholics Anonymous Facebook group ManiMonday challenge a few weeks ago that I never got around to finishing on time. I really love the theme though so I went ahead and did the mani. The theme is the 4 elements, water, fire, earth, and wind.

Hi guys! I'm starting a new Saturday feature called Simple Swatch Saturday and today I have Reverie Nail Lacquer's Orchid. On a fun note, I'm writing this ahead of time because Puerto Rico is actually under a Tropical Storm Warning for Tropical Storm Bertha. It will be affecting us starting Saturday morning. Wind gusts are estimated at around 50 MPH so that can certainly knock down trees and power lines. So just in case I don't have any power, I'm staying up late to get this done.
