Signature Style

Hi guys! Today I'm continuing to work through the manis I did in January for the 31 Day Challenge that I couldn't finish. This mani is done with Orly Pretty Ugly and accents of KBShimmer Happily Ever Aster and stamping from MoYou London Suki 04. The prompt for this one was Signature Style. I had actually come up with the design a few weeks before for another challenge and just decided to save it.

31DC2015 - Day 4 - Happiness

Hi guys! Today we continue with the nail art for Day 4 of the 31 Day Challenge. Remember that I'm doing them on my own schedule. Day 4's prompt is Happiness and for this mani I used Teal Another Tail from KBShimmer as my base, stamped with an orchid pattern from MoYou London plate Pro07. Why does this represent happiness? Christmas Poinsettia Nail Art

Hi guys! I hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday, those who celebrate Christmas and those who don't as well. I was able to squeeze in this mani in the morning while my kids where busy playing with their toys.

Neon Leopard Nail Art

Today I have a bright neon gradient with leopard spot accents using Orly nail polishes, KBShimmer Spot Sign leopard glitter and Cupcake Polish Chicago to stamp with. I'm aware that it's winter but I live in the tropics so neon is always in style. In my defense, I did these in October...not that it makes much of a difference. But October in PR is still really warm so yeah... Anyways, more pics after the break!

Thanksgiving 2014 Mani

Hi guys! I'm back! I've been gone all week because I got sick. First I injured my right wrist, then the next day I came down with a fever and severe joint pain. As the days went on I also developed swelling in my fingers and feet plus intense muscles spasms. That was followed by an all over itchy, red, rash. At first I thought it was the flu, but as new symptoms kept appearing it became clear that I had chikungunya, which is a mosquito transmitted tropical virus that's causing an epidemic in Puerto Rico at the moment. I didn't go to the Dr, because my husband got it a few months earlier and had the exact same symptoms. There's nothing you can do about it expect treat the symptoms and wait for it to pass.

The worst thing about this virus is the joint pain and in my case, the swelling. It's very debilitating and you're basically stuck in bed all day. Now as a mom, that sounds like heaven, except it wasn't since I was in a lot of pain and with chills from the fever. Today is the first day that the swelling and pain in my hands is low enough for me to sit on the computer and type so I wanted to share the quick mani I did yesterday for Thanksgiving. They're not the same, they're similar!

Today I have a fun post. You ever get excited over a brand new color of nail polish only to bring it home and realize you have one that's almost exactly the same? In the nail polish world a dupe is color that's exactly the same or pretty close to another. That's not necessarily what I mean though. I was going through my stash, organizing it and finding places to store recent purchases when it dawned on me that I had several colors that were all a type of purple with a golden shimmer or glitter. I also had several minty greens/light teals and golden, shimmery, texture polishes. So let's compare! (All these are 2 coats, no topcoat).

Let's start with the purples! All of these are basically purples with some type of golden shimmer or glitter. Left to right the bottles are CrowsToes Jotunheim, Pahlish La Belle Endormie, ORLY Fantasea, Essie It's Genius, ORLY Oui, and ORLY Digital Glitter.
