Sassy Cats Lacquer Ocean Wildfires for June's Polish Pickup is a turquoise jelly polish with red-gold-green aurora shimmer and copper shimmer. It also has ultrachrome chameleon flakies that shift copper-green-gold and iridescent flakies that shift red-green-gold and blue crystal flakes. June 2019's theme is Weather Phenomena, Mohrayma of Sassy Cats was inspired by a viral photo of the recent California wildifres over Malibu. Ocean Wildfires is intentionally made to be sheer in 2 coats, to really let all those shimmers and flakies pop. You can layer it up to 3 coats for a deeper teal shade, or use as a topper in 1 coat. I have lots of swatches below!

I'm ready for tonight's finale. It's probably going to be disappointing, but my nails are done. I've been a fan of the Song of Ice and Fire books for years, so this has been a long time coming. I'm not gonna ramble about it here though.
Ok so I did these in a hurry cause I was about to leave for a Scouts event with my family and I wouldn't have time the rest of the day to get them done. It's not the best and I haven't done nail art besides stamping in a while, so I'm a bit out of practice. I used China Glaze OMG for the silver holo, the new version that came out in 2018, Galactic Gray for the dark gray holo, and OMG a UFO for the green holo. I only did a silver to gray gradient in most of my nails and a silver-green-gray in my accent nail. In retrospect, it would have looked better to do the same to all my nails or a silver to green, since those are the House Stark colors. Oh well. I had seen a few silver to dark gray gradients for House Stark manis and since I was pressed for time, I did the same. For the direwolf, I used a water slide decal from Fangirl Polish, she has a bunch of fandom themed decals, go check her out.

I've got a massive amount of Supermoon Lacquer polishes that I've rarely ever posted about. I think I swatched 2 of them years ago. This is Beta #110. Occasionally, Mardi will have random mystery style prototypes for sales, otherwise known as Beta Batches. You don't know what you're gonna get but it'll always be super pretty. I grabbed a bunch last time she had a sale. Anyway, this one here is a more reddish purple/violet creme base with what look to me like aurora shimmers. They shift from blue to purple and hints of a golden-pink. And there's just a bit of very fine scattered holo in it too.
Swatch is 2 coats with top coat. Formula is a bit on the thicker side, but it's also super opaque and I'm sure you could probably stamp with it. You could probably get away with 1 thicker coat if you wanted to also. Photos looks weird, they photographed super dark so I had to edit them a lot in Photoshop. Polish color is now accurate, even though my skin looks odd. I have a fancy new DSLR and I'm still learning how to use it for nail photography.

Anyway...I made these back in October. I'm slowly swatching my Gemstone holo stamping polishes that I made for Moonflower and this was supposed to be the swatch/nail art for Oro. Point is, they are still kinda holiday/autumnal/winter transition that they work for this time of year so I figured I'd go ahead and post.
Ok so the base is Poetry Cowgirl's 525600 Minutes from August's Polish Pickup musicals theme. This polish was inspired by Rent. It's a black jelly base full of glitters and flakies and I love it. I fell in love with indie polishes because of this type of finish. This isn't going to be much of a review though, the formula and application are great and if you want to actually see it in action, which I think says more than my words ever could, just watch the video below.
Swatch is 3 coats with glossy top coat.
On to the stamping! I used Moonflower Polish Oro - a holo gold stamping polish, and Lina Nail Art Supplies Twirls and Swirls 01 plate, with Lantern and Wren's Simply Silver Clear Stamper.
You get two macros 😄...one has lint in it 😖.

Ok so Oro is still available at my shop - www.moonflowerpolish.com. It's $14 for the 15ml bottle. I know that's pricey so that's why I have a mini for $8. These are all handmade polishes, it's an artisan product, which means it costs more than mass produced polishes. It's also 5 free, which a lot of the cheap polishes from China are not (sometimes they are, but not usually), which means none of the super dangerous stuff. Plus....you help support a small business, and also a female run business, and also a mom business? I dunno. It's just me, working from home, making these with love for all of you (and me, cause I use them too, duh). Same goes for all indie polish makers.

I have the feeling like I've technically done this look before, the holo over multichrome I mean. Not that I particularly care if I have anyway, also too lazy too check. I say this often but the truth is I have no time. So, here we go, untried challenge again.
My untried polish today is Supernatural Lacquer Varulfur, which was part of a werewolf themed duo with Supermoon Lacquer.. I wanna say sometime last year. The polish is pretty but...not blew my socks of spectacular. (Fellow makers, don't get mad at me for saying this. I'm trying to maintain the whole "honest unbiased reviews" thing. I was a blogger and nail polish aficionado first.) It's a purple to blue multichrome with hints of reddish gold...maybe copper. It also has some microflakies. My problem is that I like this color combo in multichromes a lot, so I tend to have a few of them. And as far as multichrome pigments go, there's really not much you can do to change them, other than to add stuff to them or try to alter the base color a bit for some different subtle effects.
Formula is thin and sheer, which can be typical of multichromes as you get the best effect by painting it on in thin layers. For the swatches I did 3 coats, with glossy topcoat. I had a hard time capturing the extreme reddish copper end of the shift on camera, but it's there in person.
I stamped over that with Moonflower Polish Diamante, from the new Gemstones collection. Diamante is a silver holo, and there's not much I can say about it. One, cause it's my own creation so I obviously think it's great. Two, because I feel it's just a straightforward silver holo stamping polish. There's a few out there, so I made mine a bit darker just to make it different enough from all the rest. I really hate when I dupe another maker, even if it's accidental, so I always try to avoid it. So no, M Polish fans, this is not going to replace your To Have and To Holo that's almost out. I can't do that to Megan. This is just another alternative. Besides, she might come back some day, you never know.
Formula on Diamante is a bit on the thinner side, just cause that's the best way to make a holo polish. If you add too much pigment you lose some of that amazing rainbow holo flash. Anyway, I used the Simply Silver Clear Stamper from Lantern and Wren as well as their detail brush to fill in the triangles in the larger pattern. Stamping plate is UberChic 24-01. These days I get most of my nail art supplies from Carleigh so I definitely recommend checking out her shop here.

Today's untried polish is an oldie. I'm not even sure when I got this, 2014 or earlier. Which in the nail polish world, makes it old I guess. Anyway, this is Orly Oui, a purple jelly packed with gold mircoflakes and I feel like...some shimmer that shifts red-green a bit? It's hard to capture on camera but I can definitely see the hints of red and green amongst the gold. Maybe the microflakies themselves shift gold-red-green. I dunno. It's pretty but...the formula...not my favorite. It's rather sheer and watery, yet still opaque in 2 coats cause it's so packed with the flakies.
I really struggled to get a good macro of the nail art so I'm sorry that it's still slightly blurry.

Well I clearly suck at completing a challenge, even one set by myself. I clearly have too much time going on in my life to keep up with this blog, a YouTube channel, and a nail polish brand. So...I'm not making any promises about what I will and won't do anymore.
Anyway, I put a bunch of untrieds in a box, closed my eyes,
and asked my hubby to pick one. He picked Pretty and Polished Tomboyish,
which is a sage green to minty green thermal with a hint of subtle holo
and shimmer. I've had it for a couple of years at least and it still
transitions, which is great.
I stamped over it with Moonflower Polish Do Not Read the Latin! from September's Horror Movie Polish Pickup theme. I used UberChic plate 24-01 (purchased from Lantern and Wren and the Semi Squishy XL Silicone Stamper head from Maniology (formerly known as Bundle Monster) which is my standard go-to stamping head. Then finished it with a matte topcoat, which I regretted cause it obscured the shimmers in Do Not Read the Latin! and the holo in Tomboyish but I was too tired to topcoat again...and lazy, I was lazy.
