Polish Pickup August - At The Carnival - Indie Swatches

Hey guys! This month I have 2 polishes to show you for the August 2019 At The Carnival theme for Polish Pickup. I have Great Lakes Lacquer - Creatures of the Night, Brought to Light! and from my own brand Moonflower Polish - It's Not About the Parakeet!

Great Lakes Lacquer - Creatures of the Night Brought to Light!

Swatches are all 3 coats with no topcoat. This polish is inspired by Mommy Fortuna's Midnight Carnival from The Last Unicorn. Described as a midnight violet corrupted by a strong red to orange to bronze multichrome sheen. I will add that this has a sheer jelly base with a smooth application that dries to a shiny finish. Price is $12.50 and there is no cap. Lots of pics below.

Moonflower Polish - It's Not About the Parakeet!

Swatches are 1 coat on the index and pinky, and stamped over black and white using the Pueen clear stamper from Walmart and Lina Nail Art Supplies License to be Sexy 02 plate. Finished with my own unreleased shiny topcoat. This polish is inspired by Sunset Shimmer from the My Little Pony: Equestria Girls series, specifically the episode where she and Twilight are trying to beat a ring toss game. The color is a bright shimmery orange with hints of red to green aurora pigment and iridescent green microflakes. You need to use it for black to get that flash of green to show up. Moonflower Polish Diamante - Supernatural Lacquer Varulfur - UberChic 24-01 - Simply Silver Stamper

 I have the feeling like I've technically done this look before, the holo over multichrome I mean. Not that I particularly care if I have anyway, also too lazy too check. I say this often but the truth is I have no time. So, here we go, untried challenge again.

My untried polish today is Supernatural Lacquer Varulfur, which was part of a werewolf themed duo with Supermoon Lacquer.. I wanna say sometime last year. The polish is pretty but...not blew my socks of spectacular. (Fellow makers, don't get mad at me for saying this. I'm trying to maintain the whole "honest unbiased reviews" thing. I was a blogger and nail polish aficionado first.) It's a purple to blue multichrome with hints of reddish gold...maybe copper. It also has some microflakies. My problem is that I like this color combo in multichromes a lot, so I tend to have a few of them. And as far as multichrome pigments go, there's really not much you can do to change them, other than to add stuff to them or try to alter the base color a bit for some different subtle effects.

Formula is thin and sheer, which can be typical of multichromes as you get the best effect by painting it on in thin layers. For the swatches I did 3 coats, with glossy topcoat. I had a hard time capturing the extreme reddish copper end of the shift on camera, but it's there in person.

I stamped over that with Moonflower Polish Diamante, from the new Gemstones collection. Diamante is a silver holo, and there's not much I can say about it. One, cause it's my own creation so I obviously think it's great. Two, because I feel it's just a straightforward silver holo stamping polish. There's a few out there, so I made mine a bit darker just to make it different enough from all the rest. I really hate when I dupe another maker, even if it's accidental, so I always try to avoid it. So no, M Polish fans, this is not going to replace your To Have and To Holo that's almost out. I can't do that to Megan. This is just another alternative. Besides, she might come back some day, you never know.

Formula on Diamante is a bit on the thinner side, just cause that's the best way to make a holo polish. If you add too much pigment you lose some of that amazing rainbow holo flash. Anyway, I used the Simply Silver Clear Stamper from Lantern and Wren as well as their detail brush to fill in the triangles in the larger pattern. Stamping plate is UberChic 24-01. These days I get most of my nail art supplies from Carleigh so I definitely recommend checking out her shop here.

Shinespark Polish Maveth - Aprill PPU - Swatch & Review

Shinespark Polish Maveth Direct Light- LED -Nikon

What's up online peeps?! I got press samples again! I got a huge package from my girl Molly at Shinespark Polish so I will have quite a few things to show you guys. First up is Maveth inspired by Agents of Shield, for April's Polish Pickup, theme is Across the Universe. This is a gorgeous multichome holo flakie polish that shifts from like a silvery blue to a purple/lavender. It's got a strong linear holo flame and holo flakies! The only frustrating thing is that the multichrome effect was hard to capture on camera. When Molly first mentioned it I was like...whut? No way, it's so shifty. But nope, she was right, it took so many shots and all day yesterday. And by the end I was like "it's shiftier than this in person!!!! Arghhhh!!!!". And gave up cause I was starting to neglect my kids. Point being, there's lots of swatches below in different lights and cameras. My cellphone caught the shift better but dulled the holo while my Nikon captured the holo nicely but no shift.

Formula was great! Nice and smooth. Swatches are 3 coats of polish, it starts out thin but reaches opacity on the 2nd coat. I added a 3rd cause I felt it looked even better that way. No staining on my nails or removal but I did have a ton of flakies stuck everywhere that I had to scrub at. That would be the only "issue".

Shinespark Polish Multichromes Review

Hi guys! Today I have swatches and review of two multichrome polishes from Shinespark Polish. These are mean to be used as toppers over a dark base. Because multichrome polishes shift color depending on the angle and lighting, I'm going to mention the type of light I took the picture in. Some of the low-light shots are slightly blurry, but they show the color shifts the best, I took those with just the overhead lighting of my kitchen, and not my daylight bulbs.

Peacock Nail Art with CrowsToes Nail Color

Hello lovely readers! Happy Labor Day to the ones in the USA, I hope most of you are enjoying your day off. For me, it means I have Princess A home from school so double the mess. Today I have some Peacock nail art with MoYou London's Tropical plate 01, CrowsToes Nail Color's Huginn & Muninn and China Glaze Watermelon Rind as the base. This post will be picture heavy because Huginn & Muninn is a color shifting multichrome so I took several shots to show the range of colors.
